    •Boston Massacre
    The Townshend Acts were taxed on specific products that would be difficult for the colonists to boycott. A couple of soldiers and citizens had a disagreement over a bill for a barber. The crowd continued to grow and began to throw snow balls and other small objects at the soldiers.The Boston Massacre was an incident that led to five deaths from the British troops.Three civilians were killed and eleven were injured, and two died after the incident.

    The British East India Company was going bankrupt. To help, the Parliment passed the Tea Act. The Parliment sold its tea much lower prices then the other companies. When the colonists heard that there were ships coming they protested. A group of colonists dressed up as Monhawk Indians. The group of colonists went onto the ships at night and destroyed 342 boxes of tea by throwing it into Boston Harbor.When Britian found out they passed the Intolerable Acts. Now the Boston Harbor was closed.

    The Battle of Lexington and Concord wasn't really a battle.
    The British general heard that Concord was stashing weapons. He than sent troups out at night and Paul Revere heard about them coming. Paul rode off to warn that the British were coming. In Lexington, the British were facing the minutemen. Finally someone made a shot and no one knew who shot it. At Concord the civilians killed 73 and wounded 100 of the British.

    The British sent 2,500 troops to go up the hill where the colonist have built a defensive wall. The British attempted to take the hill two times. One the third time they were running out of weapons and the colonist ran away and the British took over. Really the British have won since they have taken over. But the colonist killed more men of the British. So they technically both won.

    In 1776, the British went to go and recapturing New York. They drove Washington off Long Island. Then, from lower Harlem. Washington retreated to White Plains The British defeated Washington. Washington was forced to retreat to New Jersey.

    The Declaration of Independence was written by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. The declaration said that the thirteen American colonies were now independent states. And that they are no longer a part of the British.The Declaration says that they want natural rights.
    Thomas Jefferson wrote the declaration. John Adams and Bejamin Franklin made changes to the declaration.
    When the King received the Declaration he than decided that the war could officially start.

    George Washington-commander cheif of the Continental Army and his men went to cross the Delaware River on Christmas night to go to Trenton to fight a battle. After the battle was over almost ever Hessian soldier was captured. Only a few men have escaped and ran across a creek. This battle has boosted the Continental Army's morale.

    The Battle of Princeton was a battle which General George Washington's revolutionary men defeated the British near Princeton. Washington hid around General Lord Cornwallis' army. He went to attack the British at Princeton. Cornwallis had 8,000 men to attack Washington's army which he had 6,000 troops. It was almost night time by the time the British reached Trenton. After three failed attempts to cross the bridge, Cornwallis called the attack until the next.

    (September 19 and October 7).The Battle of Saratoga was on the Hudson River in New York State. It was the British and German troops against the Americans. Major General John Burgoyne commanded the British and German force. Major General Horatio Gates and Brigadier Benedict Arnold commanded the American army.

    Winter of 1777–1778. The winter was harsh. It lead to 2,000 deaths and many desertions. Still,Von Stubbern,a german man begins training the soldiers. He told Washington that he will have a strong army by spring. He was a drill instructor, he taught the soldiers how to fire their guns faster. He spoke little English.

    The Dates were September 28 to October 19, 1781. George Washington and the French closed on Cornwallis at Yorktown from three directions. The French helped by stopping Cornwallis from retreating to the sea. The Americans captured 8,000 British soldiers. This resulted to the Treaty of Paris in 1783.

    The Treaty was signed by Benjamin Franklin and John Adams. The treaty also set new borders for the United States, including all land from the Great Lakes to Florida and from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mississippi River. The United States agreed to allow British troops still in America to leave and also agreed to pay all debts owed to Great Britain.The Treaty of Paris ends the Revolytionary War.
