Bill HR3288 allocates funds for Torrington's downtown
The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill that is slated to give Torrington $750,00 to fix up its downtown 5-way intersection. The bill is called Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development Appropriations Bill.

City Planner asked to write regulation banning certain businesses
Torrington's Planning and Zoning Commission asked City Planner, Martin Conner to write a regulation banning tattoo parlors, check-cashing facilities and pawn shops from the downtown area. In a memo written by Conner, he states that these type of businesses are perceived to project a negative image.
