anti-lock braking system
The earliest braking system in cars only applied to the back two wheels which made the cars turn and spin out of control and crash. So in the 1920s four wheel brakes were introduced and these prevented crashes and saved lives. Anti-lock braking systems are still used today. All cars now have four wheel anti lock braking system. -
padded dash board
volvo introduced padded dash board, hoping to reduce facial and chest injuries. the soft padded provides protecting when you have a crash. you land on a soft surface instead of a roc hard surface like cement. The padding gives less resistance and takes most of the pressure when landed on. this device becomes very handy and very safe -
air bags
In 1950 a german walter linderer and American John Hedrik invented and designed the air bag.it wasnt until 1973 when ford finally sold their first car with a passnger air ag in the car. Air bags provide a soft landing for when you crash head on. When air bags were not in cars the drivers would smash their heads straight onto the steering wheel, so air bags were put in for safety. There can be up 12 air bags in one car. -
day time running lights
Daytime running lights are an automotive lighting located on the front of your vehicles. When the vehicles moves forward auto mantically switch on and a bright white or yellow light shines. This increases the visibility of cars during the day light. Using this technology it is easier to see cars before you crash.
