The Treay of Paris made the official end of the Revolutionary War on September 3, 1783. Britain lost and America got its freedom.

    Making of the Declaration of Independence
    Thomas Jefferson was chosen to write the rough draft of the Declaration of Independence. Four other members, Roger Sherman, Robert Livingston, Benjamin Franklin and John Adam were to help Jefferson. The Declaration of Independence described the principles that were the basis for wanting independence. The Declaration of Independence said that all men are created equal and they are all entitled to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

    The civil war happened in the United States. It started with a disagreement with the north and south about slavery. The south secedes from the United States and becomes their own nation, the confederate. Some of the major battles include the First and Second Battles of Bull Run, The Battle of Shiloh, The Battle of Antietam, and the Battle of Fredericksburg. General Robert E. Lee surrenders at The Appomattox Court House in Virginia on April 4,1865. The United States abolished slavery.

Rosa Parks is the reason for the Montegomery bus boy-cott. She refused to give a white man her seat and ended up in jail. Martin Luther King was the leader of the civil rights movement. He gave his famous I Have A Dream Speech on August 28, 1963. Congress finally passed the law that all men are created equal on 1965.

    Terrosit attacked the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. They hijacked four planes. Two planes flew straight into the Twin Towers. The impact caused the Tiwn Towers to burn and collapse. The third plane damaged part of the Pentagon. The other plane crashed in a field where it was believed that the passangers took back the plane. They prevented the plane to crash into the white house. These terroist belonged to a terroist group called Al-Queda. Many people died in this tragic event.
