Odysseus sets off on his journey to rescue Helen from Troy. Not only is this a war of Troy vs. Greece it is a war of Apollo vs. Athena (and other gods). With Athena on the greek's side and Apollo with the Trojans. This battle last 10 yrs and was ended by the notorious Trojan horse.Odysseus finly left after the victory

Odysseus and his men stop at the island of the Lotus Eaters. Some men eat the Lotus and never want to leave.

Odysseus and his men land on the island where Cycolps lives. They help themselves to Cycolps food. They hear something coming but don't know it's Cyclops. He arrives and is angry and eats some of the men. Odysseus and one of his men get Cycolps some wine, to get him drunk. Cycolops falls asleep and is then stabbed in the eye with a spear. After that Cycolps gets up and knocks down all the bricks that held Odysseus and his men captive. They are free!

Odysseus and his men were close to Ithaca. While Odysseus was asleep his men find a bag which they think is full of gold. When they open the bag they find bad winds which take them back to Aelous' island.

They go to Aelous island and are given 2 bags. One has good winds and the other bad. They open the one with good winds and are just about home when the men open the bad wind bag thinking it has gold. They are then blown back to Aelous island and he thinks they are cursed and refused to help.

After being sent back to Aeolus, Odysseus and crew visit laestrygones. But the land is in habited by terrible cannibals who take out each ship except for Odysseus's one ship.

Odysseus goes to the island where the godess Circe lives. There half the men stay on the ship with Odysseus while half the men explore the island. the witch Circe turns the men in to pigs. Odysseus frees the men from the spell, but they r still stuck on Aeaea for 1 year.

Odysseus wanted to listen to the music of the sirens. so he was tide to the mast while his crew stuffed bees' wax in their ears.

Scylla and Chaybails are monsters that Odysseus and his men dealth with.

Odyssues tries to make his men not go to Thrinacia, Helios' island, he also told them not to eat Helios' cattle. But the men are very hungry so eat the cattle. so Helios gets Odysseus' men killed. That leaves Odyseus the only Greek survivor of the Trojan-Greek war. Helios mad at the loss of his cattle, threatens to no longer shine. so Zeus strikes Odyssues' ship (with lightning).

Calypso is a Nymph who holds Odysseus captive for several years. He gives her advice and Zeus sends Hermes to tell her to help him build a raft so that he can go home. She also knew how to weave.

After many long years Odysseus returns home, only to have to kill men who want to marry his wife. He then has to prove he is Odysseus. He and Penelopy are reunited.
