    He died in New York City, New York, US at age 81. He had suffered a severe stroke on April 18, 1994, while preparing to eat his dinner in his Park Ridge, New Jersey home. He died at 9:08 p.m. with his daughters at his bedside. He currently rests beside his wife on the grounds of Nixon Library.
