The United States passed the 18th admemdment, 36 states agreed to pass it.Some states had even enforced prohibition before the 18th admendment was passed.

    This was a bribary scandle at this white house under the administration of President Harding. The Teapot Dome was an oil field in Wyoming that was on public land.The oil had been set aside by President Taft in order to provide some funds for the Navy. The field was put up to bid and a man named Sinclir won. He sold the fields to a man named Dohney. He ended up loaning $100,000 to the Secretary of the Interior , intrest free. THis was considered a bribe. Fall was convicted of accepting bribes.

    Warren G. Harding was elected as president of the United States. He only served from 1921-1923 because he died of a heart attack. He served in the Ohio Senate pervious to running for president. He was known to be conservitve on isues on taxes, public manner. Everyone liked him because he promised to bring the country back to normal after World War I.

    Sacco and Vanzetti
    Immagrants from Italy are put on trial for armed robbery and murder. There was no where near enough evidence to convict them, but they were put on trial ,found gulity, and later excuted in the electric chair.It was proven that the "eye witness" was not even able to see the killers from where she was standing. Years after it was found that Sacco was most likely gulity, and Vanzetti was most likely innocent.

    Fatty Arbuckle Scandal
    The famous actor was accused of raping and killing a young scarlet at a party in Hollywood. There was not a lot of evidence to convict him, but the public was quick to blame him.
  • First Dose of Insulin was given

    First Dose of Insulin was given
    Banting(the medical resercher who discovered it) believed that he could find a cure for the "sugar disease" in the pancreas. In 1921, they isolated insulin and successfully tested in on diabetic dogs, lowering the dogs' blood sugar level. The first dose of insulin was given to a boy that was 14 years old and dying of diabetes. The dose saved his life.

    Herbert Hoover was elected into the Presidency of the United States. His campain slogan was "a chicken in every pot, and a car in every grage." He ended up crushing Al Smith who was the democratic canidate. This helped maintain the Rebublican domination in the white house.

THis was the beggining of financial disaster in the country. This would lead to desprate times. With desprate times comes desprate people. People were about to start panicing about being able to pay bessary bills and being able to put food on the table for thier family.
