The H.M.S Endeavour was blown onto the Great Barrier Reef which damaged her hull creating a huge hole. They had to stopand fix her hull before they were able to move on. If they hadn't done this, they would have most definatley drowned.

After arriving in Batavia, many of the sailors caught a disease. They had no medicine to help the ill-stircken sailors, so many died.
