    Roman Republic/ Cincinnatus (753-509 B.C.)
    Roman Republic believed in individual rights. Individual rights were citizens rights. Cincinnatus believed in Civic Virtue and common welfare. Civic Virtue isthinking about other people while making an important decision. Common welfare is the best of the community as a whole.

    John Locke believed in limited government. Limited government was government that was limited. John Locke also believed in Natural Rights, Socail Contract, and State of Nature. Natural Rights meant people believed that everyone had a right to life, liberty and property. Socail Conract was an agreement that people made on their ownto make a government, to rule them and protece the people's Natural Rights. Lastly, State of Nature means no government and no laws.

    Montesquieu believed in Republican form of government, seperate and balance powers, and the system of checks and balances. Republican form of government means voting on your reprosentitaves. Seprate powers meant the seperation of branches. Balance of powers meant equal amount of power. Finally, Seperations of Powers is the seperation of the power so one person doesn't have all the power.
