    Columbus sails to the New World, San Salvador, after searching for three months. He returned to England with many spices and goods. He returned three more times to the New World, but when he could not find route to India, he was fired. Later Spain lay claim to the New World.

    English Cabot
    John Cabot was a Spanish explorer who sailed for England to work for the Queen.She gave him one ship and eighteen men. He found New Foundland and NovaScotia, however his second voyage failed so he was also fired. Later Britain claimed NA.

    Portuguese Da Gama
    Da Gama was a Portueguese explorer and he was the first European to go around Africa to get to India. This resulted in lots of Arab trade for Portugal, but it also earned him a bad reputation for attacking and torturing people who would not trade with him. He also took over parts of Africa and Asia which were major ports, this also gave Portugal a lot of money.

    Spanish Balboa
    Vasco Nunez de Balboa lived in and around Columbia and Panama. He founded the town in Panama. On September 27, 1513 he was the first European to see the Pacific Ocean from its Eastern shore. He was later beheaded by his boss.

    Palestine in Ottoman empire
    In 1516, the Ottomans conquered Palestine. At the end of the 18th century, Napolean held a campaign and captured parts of Palestine.
    In 1831 Mehmet Ali intervened, and three years later the Palestinians revolted against the Egyptians.
    In the year of 1840, the Ottoman Empire authority was fully restablished in Palestine.

    Cortes was a spanish adventurer and soldier who setteled in Cuba. He led the expedition to the mainland and on November 18, 1518 he arrived in Tenochtitlan. He killed Monectezuma II and controlled the Aztec Empire, whhich he soon destoyed.

    Spanish Cabrillo
    Cabrillo was the first to go North from Mexico into the Pacific to California. He died on his return, and Spain claimed California. This led to missions and Ecomienda farming estates.

    Spanish Magellan
    Magellan was a Spanish explorer who landed in the Phillippines on March 16, 1521. He wsa killed there but his crew, which started out with 5 ships and 275 men, continued on without him. After three years, they returned with only one ship and 35 men. But they were the first to circumnavigate the world. By then Spain was the strongest and wealthiest country with lots of land, however it had also destroyed many cultures.

    Spanish Pizarro
    Francisco Pizarro lived in Panama. In January of the year 1531, he marched for a year, until he landed in San Mateo Bay and started to explore the land. On November 15, 1532 he captured Atahaulpa, an Incan rebel. Ransom is paid to free Atahaulpa, but after Pizarro got the gold he killed Atahaulpa. Pizarro then controlled Cuzco for ten years and was later assassinated by one of his crew memebers.

    Xavier
    Xavier was an italian founding member of the Jesuit sect of Catholicism. He was non-corrupt and his goal was to spread Christianity. He succeded in doing so in Malaysia, India and Japan, but died on his way to China.
  • French Champlain

    In the year 1608, Champlain, a French explorer claimed Quebec for France. Quebec used to belong to the Iroquois, before he claimed it.
  • Dutch

    The Dutch claimed the region between the Hudson River, Hudson Bay and the Hudson Strait. In the year 1621 the Dutch granted a company permission to colonize and expand the fur trade. In 1634 the Dutch captured Netherlands and Aruba from Spain.
