A war between the South and North Koreas. North Korea had the intentions of uniting the South to make it a Communist country, in result the war had lasted 3 years with a casualty of 60 000.

The Vietnam war that was between North Vietnam and South Vietnam. North Vietnam was supported by Communist Russia and China while the South was supported by America and all its allies. America was feared that Vietnam would fall into the "Domino effect" or Vietnam falling into a communist regime which then would be followed on by other countries.
