  • Jamestown Settlement

    Before the Pilgrims arrived, some English settled in America. They established a territory and lived there, proving the sustainability of the land.
    Impact: They paved the way for more English, as well as other, cultures and people, to settle there, which eventually lead to the United States.

    It established a government and unity among the Pilgrims as they first came ovet the New World.
    Impact: Served as the first American Constitution
  • The Revolutionary War

    The Revolutionary War

    The Colonists overthrew the Britain after being oppressed by a list of Intolerable Acts.
    Impact: America won its freedom, gained independance, and became a country.
  • Trail of Tears

    The path that Indians who had losts their homes were said to have traveld. Many died on their journey to a new home.
    Impact: Race was scattered and later many indian people intermingled with the people in their new homes.
  • Period: to

    California Gold Rush

    People from all over the United States flocked to California after gold was spotted there. Tehy hoped to strikie it big and "get rich quick".
    Impact: California developed rapidly and soon became a state afterward. Also, railroad systems were developed and the Indians were driven out of hte territory that was rightfully theirs.
  • Lincoln Assasination

    President Abraham Lincoln was shot and killed by John Wilks Booth while watching a play.
    Impact: America lost one of its greatest Presidents and Vice President, Andrew Jackson was elected into office.
  • The Great Depression

    America's stock market crashed suddenly and forced everyone to withdrawl their money from banks. Due to this lose of money, banks were forced to close and millions of Americans were left impoverished.
    Impact: The United States was able to view the world differently and Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected as the next president bringing the New Deal with him.

    World War II

    The second World War was fought between the Allie and Axis powers with the Allies gaining the victory. The holocaust took place thorughout this time as well.
    Impact:The United Nations were created as a result of this war and the United States, China, Russia, UK, and France won the war together.
  • Period: to

    Civil Rights Movement

    This movement called for equality before the law, specifically dleaing with race and gender.
    Impact: Lead to more legal justice and rights for African Americans as well as women.
  • Fall of Berlin Wall

    The wall came down when a change in government said East and West Berlin could intermix again.
    Impact: The German people were reunited and allowed freedom again. As a whole, the people were able to change and grow as one country.
