    9/11 Terror Attack
    On September 11, 2001, 19 militants involved with the extremist group "Al-Qaeda" took part in hijacking four airlines. They flew two of the four planes into the Twin Towers located in New York City. The third plane hit the pentagon outside of Washington D.C, and the fourth plane landed in a field located in Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, over 3,000 people were killed during these attacks. This created the U.S initiative to fight terrorism.

    Invading Iraq to overthrow Saddam Hussein
    The United States led a coalition into Iraq to dispose of their current president known as Saddam Hussein. There was an agreement for Iraq to get rid of powerful weapons, but that agreement was broken under the ruling of Saddam. Once the United States found out we sent thousands of soldiers to Iraq to find Saddam. He was later hung to death.

    The world-trade organization authorized the European union and other trade partners to set economic standards against the US for violating global trade laws. George W. Bush did not mind being taken out of trade with this organisation because he had already been trading with other countries, which is what got him taken out of the World-trade organisation in the first place.

    Bush had done a lot of work regarding the aid of other countries. One of his biggest help was the president's emergency plan for AIDS relief. This program helped mostly people in Africa. Over 15 billion dollars was raised to help with these programs.

    George W. Bush signed a multi-million dollar aid deal that released 200 million dollars of emergency aid to help people in Africa and elsewhere. This helped with food supplies for people in need.

    Israel has been an ally to the United States for quite some time. In 2009, Obama gained 205 million dollars from congress so that we could support Israel. The point of this was to help with Israel's defense systems. Israel developed a rocket defense with their own money to keep away threats, and the money aided to them from America helps allows them to buy the batteries needed to maintain this security.
  • The Afghanistan Surge

    The Afghanistan Surge
    President Obama ordered about 30,000 troops into Afghanistan to push back the Taliban and help out Afghanistan governments to improve their work. The point of this was to expel Taliban groups in order to make Afghanistan a safer place for the people. However, Obama announced a withdrawal which encouraged Pakistan to support the Taliban.

    There have been issues involving China that took place in the South China Sea. China hasn't always been open to communicated and working with others. Hillary Clinton stated that "a peaceful resolution of territorial disputes between China and her neighbors was in the U.S. national interest." America later launched the "Trans-pacific partnership trade agreement", but excluded China. Unfortunately, China was not very happy about this, or working with others at all.
  • Operation Odyssey Dawn

    During Operation Odyssey Dawn, American soldiers were sent into Lybia with the goal of enforcing a no-fly zone for Lybian Government forces that were loyal to Muammar Gaddafi. The plan to achieve this task was to bomb Gadaffi forces near Benghazi. In the end, NATO took command of air operations over Lybia.

    Operation Geronimo
    For many years it has been the goal of the United States to kill Osama Bin Laden. Bin Laden was responsible for the 9/11 attacks along with other acts of terrorism. Obama approved of sending a team of SEALS on a risky mission to kill Laden. It was successful and we buried Laden in the North Arabian Sea. Along with killing Bin Laden the US was able to obtain valuable information on Al-Qaeda.

    Trump on Building A Wall
    While Trump was running for president, he mentioned that he would build a wall on the southern border. He mentioned that he would do a great job of building the wall and that he will have Mexico pay for it. The point of the wall is to stop illegal immigrants from passing into the United States without proper verification.The wall will cost about 12-15 billion dollars at most and will be 2,000 miles long which underlines four states.

    Obama made with an agreement known as the "Iran Nuclear Deal" which prevents Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Iran had stated that they only intended on using their nuclear program for peaceful purposes. Uranium is a big part of creating Nuclear weapons, and Iran has a large supply of that. In the deal, it was agreed upon that they would only use uranium for civilian purposes. They would not have enough to create a weapon, which makes things even more peaceful.

    Throughout Donald Trump's presidential campaign, he made plenty of promises. One of those promises was to eliminate the terrorist threat known as ISIS. On Trump's first day of office he bombed 31 targets. These attacks took place in Syria and Iraq. Doing so showed the world that Trump is serious about eliminating any threats to the United States. Trump is aggressive and ready to stand for the U.S.
  • Trump Travel Ban

    Trump Travel Ban
    Trump enacted a travel ban as an executive order that keeps refugees out of the United States for 120 days, and immigrants from seven Muslim nations out of the United States for 3 months. Many people are against this decision that he has made simply because even people with Green Cards or Valid Visas are being rejected from entry back into our nation. What doesn't make sense is that almost every president has put some kind of travel ban into place. Why is it such a big deal when Trump does it?

    Withdrawal from the 1972 Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty
    George W. Bush announced that he was withdrawing the United States from the treaty because he had concluded that it prevented our government from being able to protect our citizens from future terrorist or rogue missile attacks.
