1990’s Technology Timeline

  • The First Web Browser

    In 1990 the first web browser was creating, called the WorldWideWeb. This browser was created by Tim Berners-Lee who was a computer scientist. The WorldWideWeb started what we now know as the web. Obviously it’s not called that anymore and there a multiple browsers that we use today. It created the path for google, yahoo and more.
  • The Very First Text Message

    The first text message was sent in 1992. The text wasn’t sent from phone to phone, but from computer to phone. Neil Papworth is the creator responsible for the first text message. He was only 22-years-old. Because of this we can now communicate from anywhere at anytime with the people we love.
  • Sony Playstation

    In 1994 Sony released the Playstation. This gaming console would eventually update and continue to be loved throughout the following decades. The inventor of the first playstation is Ken Kutaragi, who was a Sony executive.
  • DvDs

    In 1995 the first DvDs were invented, but they didn’t release till 1996. The creator was actually multiple companies. One of them was Sony Corporation and the other was Phillips Electronics. This invention gave us the opportunity to watch and play our favorite movies, games and shows.
  • Google Web Browser

    Google as we know it today is one of the most popular browsers. It has made life a lot easier when asking questions. The inventors of Google are Sergei Brin and Larry Page, who founded Google in 1998.
