    Winston starts to write in his diary about the government, he finds a corner of his room which Big Brother can't see, so he writes there.

    II. Dreams and Diaries

    Winston has dreams about the way he treated his family, and believes the party changed the information surrounding his mother's death. He also writes in the diary about his experience with a prostitute, and his regrets with it.

    III. Winston's Thoughts

    Winston zones out in a meeting only to wake up to see a girl staring at him. He thinks the girl is going to snitch on him for a facecrime.

    IV. More inner thoughts

    Winston acquires a belief that proles are key in defeating the ministry. In order to do this, however, they must break away from the chaining and binding beliefs of the party.
  • V. Coverups

    V. Coverups

    While working to make textbooks and record "history", Winston is forced to alter and change history by covering up and destroying evidence of something that could make the party look bad. While he might have destroyed some evidence, he will never forget what he saw and learned.
  • VI. The Room

    Winston goes back to where he bought his diary from. Inside this antique shop, he meets a man that offers to rent out a room from him away from all telescreens and spy devices.
  • VII. Julia

    VII. Julia

    He runs into the woman he thought would report him. She drops a note which says "I Love You". They then get lunch the next day and decide to meet. This leads to a second date where Winston rents out the room from Mr. Charrington, and the two have sex and fall in love. Amongst this, it's revealed both of them have strong feelings towards the party and are rebellious.

    Julia and Winston awake one morning to a telescreen with Charrington's voice coming through. It is revealed that he is a member of the thought police and was undercover. They are then taken into custody.

    IX. A Reveal

    Winston is in a cell when O'Brien, who he previously thought to be a member of the brotherhood (a rebel and revolting organization), walks in. He turns out to be an operative who was also undercover and just acting. Winston is betrayed, and in disbelief, and is then tortured for his crimes of falling in love and having sex with Julia.

    X. Torture and Betrayal

    Winston is brainwashed by the ministry. In his torture, he gives in to the last command of the ministry, which is that 2+2=5. He slowly gives in and loves O'Brien for easing the torture. After this, he is taken to Room 101, where he is greeted with more torture, this time in the form of his worst fear; rats. When these rats are presented, Winston gives up and betrays Julia, finally giving the Party what they want; control over Winston.
  • XI. Finale

    XI. Finale

    After this, Winston is released and is changed. He embraces Big Brother. He finds Julia one day, but the love no longer exists. His life is once again finally devoted to the party and them only. He no longer freely thought, he had won the battle against himself and his desires. He loved big brother
