    The eruption of St Helens killed 57 people in Washington. There was $1 billion in damage and the area surrounding St Helen's became a wasteland.
  • Ronald Reagan becomes president

    Reagan was the 40th president of the United States. He brought back the pride of the nation and encouraged Americans to love and fight for their country.
  • The Challenger Space Shuttle explodes

    The US space shuttle exploded only 73 seconds after it launched. The shuttles explosion killed 7 people, the challenger is the worst accident in the whole history of the space program.
  • The Hubble Telescope Launched

    The Telescope was sent into orbit, after a month the telescope became operational, and the scope was sent into orbit so that NASA could see further into space and discover more.
  • The Cold War Ends

    The cold war did not have a defining moment that ended it. The war just dissolved along with the USSR. Then the Berlin Wall fell which officially declared the ending.
  • Bill Clinton is elected to be president

    Bill was elected to be the 42nd president of the United States. Bill defeated George Bush in the election. However, Bill was not the right fit because he was later to be impeached.
  • Oklahoma City Bombing

    An ex-army soldier exploded a bomb outside a federal building at exactly 9:02 am. He killed 168 people and 19 children, that were under the building at a daycare center. This event marked the worst act of homegrown terrorism in the nation's history.
  • 9/11 Terrorist Attacks

    Islamic terrorists drove two planes into the World Trade Center and another into the Pentagon. More than 3,000 lives were taken. This event was the largest terrorist attack in history of the US.
