    Alan Snugart invented the Floppy Disk at IBM laboratories in 1971. The Floppy Disk was first designed to load microcodes into IBM's Merlin IBM3330, but was later used to store information and software. It was used in a drive similar to today's CD/DVD drives.

    The Nippon Calculating Machine Corporation requested Intel to design twelve computer chips to be used in Nippons new Buisem 141-PF printing calculator. Intel designed a series of four chips for Nippon, the 4004 series. One of the chips could be programmed to work in different devices. This allowed Intel to sell the 4004 to other companies making other devices.

    On January 5, 1972 president Richard Nixon announced the developement of the NASA Space shuttle Program. Nixon signed a bill authorizing NASA with $5.5 million ro build a new space-flight vehicle. The shuttle was designeed to act more like an airplane than a single-ues rocket.

    at seven fifty-five on December 7, 1972, Eugene E. Lernan, Ronald E. Evans, and Harrison H. Schmitt launched and piloted the last Apollo moon landing. This was the first mission with a trained geologist. The astronauts landed on the moon on December eleventh and were the last men on the moon so far, with a mission duration of seventy-four hours, fifty-nine minutes, and forty seconds.

Secretariet earned his reputation as one of the greatest racehorses of all-time.

    Science and technology: Sky Lab launched
    On May 14, 1973 the first American space station, Sky Lab, was launched. The station was launched by a modified Saturn V rocket and orbited Earth for six years. After being launched the station slowly fell out of orbit, eventually burning up in the atmosphere and falling to earth.

    Robert Metcalfe created the Ethernet Cable in Xerox's Palo Alto Research Center on May 22, 1973. Ethernet was a system used to directly connect computers and machines within a buisness, allowing for a fast working LAN (Local Area Conection).

The Black Box was an inflight data recording system which was designed for airplanes. It was built to be nearly indestructable and is now used and required in all airplanes.

Their head coach was Chuck Noll. The American Football League merged with the National Football League in 1970 and brought many new young players to the NFL.

There were 20,000 clubs all around the country and disco influenced music later on.
