  • JFK Elected President

    Kennedy was in a competition against Richard M. Nixon it was a very close election. Kennedy was age 43 which was the youngest president, he was also the first catholic.

  • Bay of Pigs

    The bay of pigs invasion begins when a CIA- financed trained group of the cuban refugees lands in cuba and they also attemo to topple the communist government to Fidel Castro.

  • Cuban Missiles Crisis

    FIfty years ago the United States and the soviet union stood closer to Armageddon than at any other moment in history.

  • JFK Assination

    JFk was assinated by Lee Harvey Oswald, only to be fatally gunned down by Jack Ruby a couple days later.

  • Beatles Peform in U.S. for first time

    The beatles came to the U.S. to peform for there first time. They came from the U.K. which there they were already stars.

  • Gulf of Tonkin Resolution passed

    IT was a joint resolution that the united states congress passed on August 10, 1964 because of the Gulf of Tonkin incident.

  • U.S. involvement in vietnam war begins

    U.S. destroyers stationed in the Gulf of Tonkin n vietnam radioed that they had been fired upon by the north virtnamese forces.

  • Tet Offensive

    ABout 70,000 north vetnaese and viet cong forces launched the tet offensice which was named the lunar new year holiday called tet.

  • Election of 1968

    Richard Nixon, Hubert Hunphrey, Geroge LeMay all three of these men ran for the election in 1968. Richard nixon was the winner of the election.

    It was a major political scandal that occured in the United States in the 1970's as a result of the june 17, 1972.

    Nixon anounce the end of U.S. involvement which was on January 23, 1973.

  • Richard Nixon resigns from presidency

    He said that he would resign the next day to begin.

  • Jimmy carter elected president

    There were four people in the election. Jimmy carter became president in 1976.

  • Camp David accord between Egypt and Israel

    The camp was Accerded in 1978 it was big event.

  • Iranian Hostage Crisis

    The event lasted from Novermber 4, 1979 - January 20, 1981.

  • Ronald reagon elected president

    He lost the election in 1968 and in 1976, but he won the elction in 1980.
