    President-ed two terms. Helped pass the Civil Rights Act of 1957, sent army troops to ensure that the Little Rock 9 could safe enter school, ad promoted strong science education with the Nation Defense Education Act.

    This protest was taking place in Montgomery, Alabama when African Americans refused to get on any bus because of the segregated seating as they were inspired by Rosa Parks, who sat at the "white" section of the bus and was arrested for this protest.
