Dwight D EisenhowerWas the 34th President of the United States. He was President from January 20, 1953 – January 20, 1961. Born in Kansas on October 14, 1890 of Pennsylvania Dutch heritage, he was one of six sons. He attended and graduated from West Point. He was a five-star general in the United States Army during World War II and served as Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in Europe. After the war he served as Army Chief of Staff under President Trumam. -
