Quest for space
During the Cold war, the Soviet Union launched a satellite into space which scared the U.S citizens. When Kennedy was elected he launched his own space program which started the space race. The space race would end when America put the first man on the moon. (ignitia.com) -
The 1960's
The 1960s involved the end of the Cold war along with the Vietnam war. The 60s also started an exploration of space and the beginning of the first man to set foot on the moon. Death of Kennedy
When Kennedy was president he decided to tour the country. Kennedy went to Texas in an open Limo. While touring around with his wife he was shot in the back of the head by Lee Harvey Oswald. Harvey was captured by the police and was then transferred into holding which is where he died when Jack Ruby shot and killed him. (ignitia.com) -
Nixon
When Nixon was elected president he had great domestic challenges. Inflation was a big problem that Nixon tried to fix but abandoned both of his projects to fix it. School desegregation became a new issue, which began to fix the segregation problem in the other areas. (ignitia.com) -

During the 1970s Nixon was elected and had some of the greatest foreign issues. Nixon started many projects like Reaganomics and the "star wars" project. Near the end of the 70s, extreme Iranian groups invaded an American embassy and held it captive for 444 in order to attack Shah. (ignitia.com) -
Iran Hostage Crisis
The Iran hostage crisis was one of the worst foreign problems for the Carter administration. Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini headed a revolution against Shah in February 1979. Shah went to get medical treatment temporarily but Iranian radicals attacked the embassy where Shah was. The hostages were held for 444 days. (ignitia.com) -
The 1980's Reagan's Plan
Reagon was elected in the 80s, he was originally an actor but became president later on. Reagon was known as a great communicator. Reagon also started his own space missile program called "star wars." Reagon created his own program for the economy called Reaganomics. (ignitia.com) -
The 1990's Moral Crisis
Abortion was a big topic during the 90s, especially while President Bush was in charge. Bush was against abortions and tried to offer alternatives. Christians were centered in the 90s because of their stance on abortion and the number of organizations that were centered around them. (ignitia.com) -
Persian Golf War
This multi-nation invasion force--led by the United States--drove the Iraqi troops out of Kuwait. The war began with massive air attacks destroying the Iraqi military, communication, and transportation targets. Iraq countered with missile attacks on Saudi Arabia and Israel. Iraq hoped to draw Israel into the war and convince the Arab nations to fight Israel instead of Iraq, but Israel stayed neutral. (ignitia.com) -
Tragedy in the U.S
9/11 was a massive U.S tragedy that resulted in the deaths of thousands and was an attack on the entire country. The attack involved the hijacking of planes by terrorists who planned on flying them into different staples of the country, like the Pentagon and the World Trade Centers.
