  • Korean War

    Korean War
    A war between North and South Korea, in which a UN force led by the United States supported the South and China, supported the North. After World War Two the Soviet Union occupied North Korea with permission from the United States. North and south Korea set up governments but could never reach agreement’s. Soon the north invaded the south and began to push the southern forces back. War ended when the Korean armistice was signed in 1953.

    The Twenty-Second Amendment states that a president can't serve more than 2 terms in office. The ratification of the Twenty-Second ensured that a president could not become a king. The Twenty-Second Amendment played a main role in preventing a monarchy.

    Julius and Ethel Rosenberg we accused of conspiracy to commit espionage. They were accused of giving information of the atomic bomb to the Soviet Union. They were found guilty and sentenced to death.

    The Vietnam War was a conflict between the Communists of North Vietnam and their southern allies the Vietcong against South Vietnam and their allies.The Vietnam war begun due to the United States goal to contain the spread of communism during the cold war. The cost of lives during the war was very high and in the end the United States ended up pulling out of Vietnam allowing North Vietnam to take control of the South.

    Four students were killed and nine were wounded. The students were shot when they were protesting the cambodian campaign. They were shot on the Kent State Campus in Kent, Ohio. After the shootings protests sparked around the country and many schools were closed due to the protests.
