The Korean war was a between North Korea and South Korea. North Koreans believed in communism and were supported by the Soviets. South Korea beliieved in Democracy and were supported by U.S. The War consisted of the taking certain amount of land after the 38th paralllel and then losing it. Land was quickly captured and lost during this war. -

Earl Warren states that "seperate but equal" does not hold true in public education. This allows schools to be desegregated, opening up oppurtunities for african americans. The results of this case was extremely opposed in the South and caused people to not follow it. -

Emmitt Till was murdered in Mississippi. Till was killed becuase he whistled at a white girl. His murderers were let free becuase the all white jury said they couldnt accuse him of murder because the body was undistinguishable. This gave light in to how bad Jim Crow laws were in the South. -

This act allowed funds to build a highway made up of many lanes. This highway was going to be 41,00 miles long. The highway would represesnt the biggest expenditure spent on public works. Also the hihgway would make traveling from suburbs to cities. -

In Arkansas, schools were supposed to be integrated. In Little Rock, nine black kids were trying to get into the school in Litttle Rock. At first they weren't allowed to ener but then forces were sent to escort the kids into the school. -

This document banned segregation in public accomodations. It increased federal authority to make sure people abide the school desegregation law. Lastly, it terminated iscrimination for jobs on basis of race, color, and sex. -
