Little Rock 9's First Day Of School
Little rock 9 were the first 9 black students to try to go to school with white people. Sadly they were not welcomed the government called the state troopers and told them to not let any black students in. People spit on them, and harassed them. -

This incident caused the U.S to get into the Vietnam war, supposedly the north Vietnamese blew up one of our ships. Most people believed this was a lie, it was just the government to find a way to get into the war. Malcolm X Assassination
Malcolm X was the complete opposite of MLK he was violent and believed violence will solve the problems. Malcolm X was assassinated by assassins identified as Black Muslims, right before he was gonna give a speech. Malcolm X received many threats a day before his death someone burned his house down -
Black Panthers
The Black Panthers was an activist group who believed in violence. They did things a little more different then MLK, they were not afraid to fight back. Today the black panthers are still around but not as violent as back then. -
MLK's Assassination
MLK was assassinated in Memphis, TN, he was on the balcony of his motel room and at 6:01 P.M he was struck by a bullet who was shot by James Earl Ray. James Earl Ray was a racist who plotted to kill him earlier that but he took his time to plan it out. James Earl died in prison in April 23, 1998 -
First man on the Moon
The U.S was competing with the Soviet Union on who would make it to space first. President Richard Nixon tried to steal his opponents info so that he can us it for himself. He was caught and was forced to resign before they can impeach him. Richard Nixon went down as one of the worst president afer this incident. -
Elvis Presley's Death
Elvispesley asth king of rock music, he died from an overdose, his heart stopped. He had this little dance that wasn't allowed to be seen on tv because a lot of females went crazy. Elvis died very young at the age of 42. -
Aids
Aids started becoming an issue in the U.S and U.S scientist tried to figure out what was the cause of it, a scientist by the name of Robert Gallo figured out how it was being spread. Aids been around for a while but since it wasn't In the U.S we had no knowledge of it. Aids is still around today and there is still no cure.
