    Harding Wins Presidential Election
    Warren G. Harding was the Republican candidate in the 1920 presidential election. He won by a landslide over the other candidates. His election was based around restoring America's "normalcy", and he did not like Wilson's idealism. The people liked his views and supported him, but they did not realize the trouble that he would bring with him.

    1921 Quota Act
    The Quota Act of 1921 limited the amount of aliens allowed to enter the United States. The Act showed how Americans were becoming isolationists, and how they do not care about what is going on in other places in the world. During the 1920's Nativism and racism were on the rise in America. The Quota Act of 1921 was also referred to as the Emergency Quota Act.

    The Teapot Dome scandal still stands as one of the biggest scandals in American history. The scandal involved the secretary of interior Albert B. Fall. Fall granted rights of the Naval oil reserves in Wyoming to the Mammoth Oil company in exchange for money. This scandal did not involve President Harding but it still tarnished his reputation.

The pilots endured the extremes of the world from freezing cold to the scorching heat. They completed their mission after 175 days on September 28.

    In 1924 President Coolidge easily won re-election. The Americans liked how he called for isolation in foreign policy. President Harding was very quiet and seldom spoke.

    The Great Gatsby is an American classic. The author F. Scott Fitzgerald fought in WWI. He perfectly symbolizes the soldiers who came home from the war and did not know how to live like a civilian. This whole generation became known as the "lost generation". Whenever Fitzgerald died he felt as if he had accomplished nothing.

    On September 20 the North Side Gang attempted to assassinate Al Capone but failed. They shot into Capone's entourage outside a hotel and missed him. Capone was a gangster and business man who made money during the 1920's from the prohibition. He was one of the most brutal gangsters and was responsible for the Valentine's Day Massacre ,but he was never indicted.

    The Jazz Singer was the first American musical film. It premiered in New York. At this time Jazz moved up from New Orleans to New York. The Black community really embraced Jazz. It was a symbol for change in America.

    The Harlem Renaissance is considered the Golden Age for Black people in America. Harlem in New York was a mecca for Blacks in the 20th century. The culture grew and African Americans knew it was time for change in America. The Black community embraced Jazz. Louis Armstrong brought Jazz up from New Orleans.

    On October 29th 1929 the stock market crashed. This day became known as Black Tuesday. Billions of dollars were lost and investors were devastated. Banks collapsed and could not give any money because there was no money going in. The stock market crash was the sole cause of the Great Depression.
