  • The League of Nations was established

    The League of Nations was established
    Wilson created and brought the 14 points with him to the Treaty of Versailles. These points were accepted and became the framework for the League of Nations. Even though it was America who come up with this plan, the United State never joined the League of Nations.

    Women's suffrage
    The 19th Amendment granted the right to vote for Women in America. Tennessee was the last "yes", that created this Amendment. 50-49 was the final vote. This Amendment was also known as the Susan B. Anthony Amendment.

  • Immigration Quota Established

    Immigration Quota Established
    Congress passes immigration restrictions, for the first time creating a quota for European immigration to the United States. Targeted at "undesirable" immigrants from Southern and Eastern Europe. While the act was sharply curtails the quota for those areas, immigration from the Northern and Western Europe was raising.
  • The Teapot Dome Scandal

    The Teapot Dome Scandal
    The Teapot Dome Scandal was the worst scandal in the President Harding's term. The scandal involved Sec. of Interior, Albert B. Fall, and the possible drilling rights of oil-rich land in Wyoming. Sec. Fall accepted bribes from Mammoth oil company to drilling and take oil that was reserved for the Navy. Fall received jail time for his actions.

    Model T.
    The Ford Motor Company in Detroit made the Model T. Ford, the first affordable car. Each car cost $335. Ford used an assembly line to put together the cars, which made the process go faster.

    F. Scott Fitzgerald
    In 1925, Fitzgerald writes his 3rd novel, "The Great Gatsby". The story of " The Great Gatsby" is about a gangster's pursuit of a rich girl. This book shows the extent of what people bought in the 20's. Fitzgerald is apart of a group of people called the " Lost Generation".

    "The Jazz Singer" becomes the first full-length motion picture with sound. Too the movies that followed this release of "The Jazz Singer" they would be known as "talkies" These movies would have also had music or songs already on the tape, no band needed.

    Lindbergh Flies across the Atlantic
    Lindbergh was the first person to fly nonstop across the Atlantic. He flew because he heard there was an offer of $25,000 to anyone that would dare to fly nonstop. He flew 3,600 mile in 33 hours, after that he became a hero.

    Steamboat Willie is released by Walt Disney. This is Walt Disney's first cartoon with synchronized sound. The voice of Mickey was Disney himself.
  • Stock Market Crash

    Stock Market Crash
    Overconfidence causes people to pour their savings into the stock market to try to earn quick money. But when prices start to fall, panic begins and the market loses millions of shares as people try to recover their money. Several people on Wall Street try to buy stocks to keep it from crashing, this works for a few days but fails. The stock marker crashes and the U.S. goes into The Great Depression.
