The amendment was passed granting women the Right to vote. This Right further adds to the freedom of the decade. In previous years, women were not allowed to make important decisions such as this. -
Harding wins Presidency
This presidential election is between candidates Warren Harding (Republican) and James Cox (Democrat). Harding won 60% of the popular votes and 75% of the electoral votes. Harding eventually led to what is known as the "Teapot Dome Scandal". -

The start to the trial of an arguable case. Two Italian Immigrants are convicted of murder and sentenced with the death penalty. Many believe that the outcome was unjust. -

President Harding dies of a stroke and his vice president, Calvin Coolidge, becomes the new president. At the time, the death was rumored to be suspected murder. His wife requested there not be an autopsy. -

The Great Gatsby is published by F.Scott Fitzgerald. The author chooses to express his opinion of society through writing. The book showed how Fitzgerald believed people had lost their sense of values and morals during this time. -

Teaching The Theory of Evolution in schools was originally forbidden. John Scopes ignored this and is eventually found guilty. This case is commonly referred to as the "Scopes Monkey Trial". -

Both men were accused of murder. They had lied when being questioned and committed crimes previous to this one. They were found guilty and placed in electric chairs. -
