    18th Ammendment
    This brought Prohibitation to the United States. This also meant "intoxicating liquor" was prohibited. It was replaced in 1933 by the 21st ammendment.

    This tried to deport and arrest leftists and anarchists. A. Mitchell Palmer was the leader of the group.

    This act enabled legislation for the Eighteenth Ammendment. Wayne Wheeler of the Anti-Saloon Leauge drafted the bill.

    These two men were convicted of murdering two other men. This was a controversial trial, and many questioned whether or not the trial was fair. They eventually were executed.

    19th Ammendment Ratified
    This prohibited anyone to be denied to vote because of their sex. This was brought together by the women's suffrage movement.

    Teapot Dome Affair
    This was a bribery scandal of president Warren G. Harding. Navy petroleum was for low prices at Teapot Dome and two other places without competing for prices.

    This act limited the amount of immigrants coming in the country each year. Only 2% of the amount of Americans can be immigrants.

    John Scopes, a teacher violated the Butler Act by teaching evolution. He was found guilty, but he ended up going free.

    Charles Lindbergh Crosses the Atlantic
    This was done for a prize of $25,000 to have a flight between New York and Paris. His engine was called "Spirit of St. Louis".

    1st talking movie, "The Jazz Singer" is released
    This was the first full length movie with dialogue. It also was a musical.
  • Herbert Hoover elected president

    Herbert Hoover elected president
    He was the 31st president of the United States. He was in office for 120 days, and he was very optimistic about his position.
  • Stock Market Crash

    Stock Market Crash
    After WWI, people were more optimistic about the world. Many invested their money. On this day, which is known as "Black Thursday", the stock prices went way down.
