Off the ports of Halifax, two ships had collided into each other not only causing issues in the war, but on land too. It was known to be the biggest man-made explosion at the time. -

This is when the countries came together to negotiate a peace treaty. This contract was written by the U.S President, the British Prime Minister, and the France President. The United States had believed punishing Germany might make them pay later, while France wanted Germany to pay money, and the British wanted Germany to pay harshly while making it fair. -
