The large scale strike envolving over 350,000 workers is finally put to an end on 1/8/1920. The strike lasted roughly three months. The goal of the strike was to obtain eight hour work days, union recognition, and higher pay.

On August 18th, the amendment was passed that gave women the right to vote. The 19th amendment was passed that specified that people can't be turned away based purely on thier sex. The amendment had to be passed, dispite the fact that the 14th amendment implied that women could vote.

After the First World War, Harding ran and won the Presidency. His campaign crushed all of his competetors. Harding had 60% of the popular vote, and 75% of the electoral vote.

After only three years of his first term, President Harding dies. The Republican suffers from a stroke and unfortunately passes away. His Vice President, Coolidge takes over the Presidents role.

On Novemeber 27th, 1924 the first Macy's Thanksgiving Parade was held. The first of many was held in the big apple. Ironically, the first Thanksgiving parade was themed for Chirstmas, instead of it's namesake holiday.

On May fifth, 1925, a Tennessee schoolteacher is put into custody for teaching evolution., John Scopes is put on trial for violating the state law that banned Darwin's theory of Evolution. Eventually, John Scopes is found guilty.

Charles Lindbergh made his famous flight on May 21st 1927. His flight was the first transatlantic flight in history. "Lucky Lindy" was the title that the puplic had given the now famous aviator.

On November 6, 1928, Presidental Candidate Herbert Hoover wins the title! The Republican ran and won the seat when Coolidge decided not to run for another term. Hoover was our 31st president.

In November 18, 1928 a legend is born! With the premier of Steam Boat Willy, Mickey Mouse becomes a house-hold name! This is where Walt Disney truly began to shine.

On October 9th 1929, the Stock Market crashed. After days of unease about the market it offically tanked. The Stock Market Crash continued until the start of WWII.
