Saint Valentine’s Day Massacre on February 14, 1929. Seven men were gunned down by Al Capone, in cold blood, in a garage. This shocked the nation by Al Capone’s brutality and made him a national celebrity.

The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was a major event of the 40’s because it was nearing the end of World War II. The responsibility was placed in President Truman’s from August 6-9. He decided to end WWII by bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

WWII ends with the death of Adolf Hitler, by cyanide pill, and Europe is freed. The concentration and labor camps are liberated and the Nazi genocide ends. WWII is finally over and Europe can begin to rebuild.
