    The First Great Awakening

    A series of religious christian revivals that occured in Britain and its colonies. These awakenings had a lasting impact on protestantism. It also renewed individual piety and religious devotion.
  • War of Polish Succession

    War of Polish Succession

    A major European conflict sparked by a Polish civil war over the succession to Augustus II of Poland. Other European powers widened in pursuit of their own nation's interest. Still has effect today because of succession and differing countries.

    This war was started when Prussia invaded Silesia. This war marked the rise of the Prussia as a major power.

    A war that span between 5 different continents, and is also known as the "French and Indian War". This war was caused by the aftermath of the "War of Austrian Succession". This war was started by Prussia wanting to seek greater dominance.

    An act where Great Britain imposed a direct tax on the British colonies. This tax was enforced to pay for British troops living in the colonies.

    A war on Great Britain, initiated by the 13 colonies. The colonies were angry they were not getting represented fairly but were getting taxed. The colonies won the war and declared independence.

    Declaration of Independence

    United States declared independence from Britain. This was caused by the war between the two. This has lasting effects on history because it created possibly the greatest nation ever.

    Started the idea of abolishing the constitutional monarchies. It sought to completely change the relationship between rulers and the people they rule.
