    The French and Indian War is also known as the Seven Years' War. France and Britain feuded over the boundaries of their respective North American empires. British colonists and Native American allies, led by George Washington, killed a French diplomat. This was the start to the seven year war. The Seven Years’ War ended with the peace treaties of Paris and Hubertusburg in 1763.

    The Industrial Revolution was the transition to new manufacturing processes in Europe and the United States. The stream engine was one of the most important inventions from this revolution.This is because it was a simple device that used boiling water to create mechanical motion. Many more inventions came from this time period. Industrial Revolution was able to transform the economies that had been based on agriculture and handicrafts into big-time industries resulting in more money.

    American Revolutionary War

    On April 19, 1775, a local militiamen clashed with British soldiers in the Battles of Lexington and Concord in Massachusetts. This marked the “shot heard round the world” that signified the start of the Revolutionary War. This war was between Great Britain and the original 13 colonies. The war ended in Yorktown, Virginia which resulted in the Treaty of Paris. The Treaty of Paris stated the independence of America and established borders for the new nation.

    On August 29, 1786, Daniel Shays who was a Revolutionary War veteran, piloted a rebellion with weapons in Springfield Massachusetts to protest what he believed to be unjust. He believed that the economic policies were unfair. Many people were influenced by what Daniel did and they all rebelled against the government, because of the raise in taxes. This resulted in a change of government and exposed the weakness of the government under the Articles of Confederation.

    Not only was George Washington was the first president of the United States, but he was a Founding Father. He led the colonial forces to victory during the Revolutionary war as the Commander in Chief of the Continental Army. He worked hard to set an example of fairness, prudence and integrity.

    John Adams was the second president of the United States. He served as an American statesman, attorney, diplomat, writer, and Founding Father. He negotiated the Treaty of Paris which ultimately ended the American Revolutionary War. He lost his re-election to Thomas Jefferson in 1800.
