The war that decided the fate of America, for as ever long as it maintained its dependence, would be settled by this war. The two contestants for the northeastern part of America were the British and the French. This war lasted nearly ten years and was one by the British that took place at a deciding battle in the Plains of Abraham, just outside of Quebec.

The Treaty of Paris finalized the end of the French and Indian War, as well as the gains of the British because of the war. The treaty stated that the British would be able to assume control over Canada and all of the French positions east of the Mississippi.

The Boston Massacre was a killing of five colonial men in a crowd that was obstructing British troops. The aggressive tension was formulated over a snowball fight but eventually progressed to where people used deadly forces. This had a major effect on the colonial people and would lead to more rioting.

During this time the British were enforcing a tax on tea for the colonists. So as a result a group of colonial patriots dressed up as Native Americans and started to throw many crates of expensive tea into the sea.

The Continental Congress was a group of 57 delegates from each of the existing colonies except for Georgia. The meeting took place in Philadelphia and would be the start of big decisions that were yet to be made.

The American Revolution is a great war for independence between Great Britain and their thirteen colonies. The beginning of this long war would be fought on the east coast of North America and would prove to be a bumpy road for both Great Britain and the thirteen colonies.

This battle is fought in the cold of December and carries over to June or the next year. George Washington and his troops can ambush the opposing forces and win the battle. It raises the low morale of the people and allows the colonial army to gain a much-needed win in the arching war.

The U.S. Constitution is drafted by twelve of the thirteen original colonies. The constitution would be an important step towards America becoming a democracy as well as a major help in providing a document on which this country is based.
