    Fought between Great Britain and France over a dispute over the boundaries and the Ohio River. British colonists and Native American allies killed a French diplomat and this led to war. Pushed the thirteen American colonies closer together politically and culturally.

    This war began when a prophet, Neolin, had a vision from the Master of Life telling him to cast off the British from Indian country. Ottawa leader, Pontiac, took action and began attacking Fort Detroit in 1763. Many soldiers and settlers died. Diseases and shortage of supplies, led Pontiac meeting with William Johnson to settled for peace

  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    Concluded in the death's of five Bostonians. Began when crowds outside the Custom House threw snowballs and insults at the sentry. Coming to aid the sentry, few British soldiers fired among the hostile crowd.

    The First Continental Congress convened on September 5, 1774. It was a meeting of delegates from 12 of the 13 colonies and also served as the "government" for them. The first meeting had taken placed in Philadelphia in Carpenter's Hall.

    The American Revolution was fought between the 13 colonies and Great Britain. Later France entered the war on the colonists side in 1778. Britain surrendered at Yorktown, Virginia 1781 and the Americas won their independence. The fighting did not formally end until the year of 1783.

    Written by Thomas Jefferson and members of the Continental Congress. The Declaration was formed to address the issues and harsh conditions Great Britain brought upon America. It was a proclamation to fight for freedom so that America could stand as a freed country. Congress then approved the document on July 4, 1776.

    Formally ended the American Revolution and gave independence to the colonies. Benjamin Franklin, John Adams and John Jay negotiated the peace treaty with Great Britain. Paved the way for westward expansion and doubled the size of the Americas.

    Invention of the Cotton Gin
    The Cotton Gin was created by Eli Whitney. A faster technology that separated the seeds from the cotton faster than by hand. It gave Southern planters the opportunity to expand their cotton production for the national and international markets. This technology development advanced both the supply and demand for markets.
