  • Endurance was trapped.

    The endurance was trapped in the ice trying to get across the South pole. The crew saved what they could from the ship & set up camp on the ice.

  • The Endurance was sinking.

    The men heard crushing and got scared.

  • Executing their plan would be difficult.

    He was wondering if he would be able to study the unending snow and ice. The men were pulling boats one at a time harnessed like horses.

  • The men are in a boat trying to get past ice to get to open water.

    They hadn't had a bath in five and a half months. They were going to try and make the 800 mile journey to the whaling station.

  • 11pm Trying to get around the blocks of ice was hard.

    A wave hit into the ice and a crack was heading straight for tent number 4. One of the men went towards the crack and saw a weird shape with one of the men in it.

  • Finally, the men reached open water.

    The men had to find land.

  • The men lost hope.

    At last something was seen in the distance. It was land.

  • Elephant Island was cold and had a lot of rock, ice, and snow._________

    Tents were put up but they blew away fast. Without sleeping Shack planned to leave for South Georgia Island.

  • They were facing the biggest wave they had ever seen. It was a gray beard.

    They were in a storm.

  • The men found land.

    For nine bad hours they fought to keep the boat floatting

  • On&on the exhausted men hiked.

    At last all three men heard a sound of a far-off whistle

  • 4pm a man heard a knock outside his office.

    The men have returned.
