The U.S. takes on NFL stronghold near Saigon, this is the first actual U.S. mission. -

This is the Vietnamese victory to the French at Dien Bien Phu. -
The Gulf of Tonkin Attack
The U.S tries to help a South Vietnamese attack on North Vienam and we bomb an oil facility at the Gulf of Tonkin. -
The Gulf of Tonkin Resolutions
This gave the President power to do pretty much what ever he wanted to defend South East Asia. -
Rolling Thunder Begins!
This stopped North Vietnam from supporting The Vietcong Guerilas in the south. -
The U.S. offered peace for the economic aid propsal
The offer was turned down, which escalated the effort of the U.S to be more involved within the war. -
Operation Starlite
First major battle for the United States units, and was a success (Victory woohoo!) -
President Johnson sends 60,000 troops to Vietnam
With this troop increase the American forces in the Vietnam reach a whopping 385,000 -
Operation Junction City
American's over took stores of their weapons. This really had no huge effect on the war. -
Khe Sanh attack by Vietcong
This lasted a whole two days, and killd eighteen marines. -
Ted Offensive Begins
This is Vietnams most important holiday, and had the total of five attacks -
My Lai Massacre
The U.S kills around two hundred civilians in My Lai. -
Rolling Thunder Ends
Rolling Thunder comes to an end, and the U.S loses. -
Nixon takes office!
Nixon is President of the United States and promises its people that we will "Get peace with honor." gets America hopeful. -
Operation Menu
South Vietnam bombs North Vietnam and the Vietnam bases in Cambodia. -
Spraying of Agent Orange ends
The chemical Agent Orange is put to and end which stopped the killing of land in Vietnam. -
Most of U.S troops come home!
All of but 133,000 troops leave Vietnam and come home, we decide that we want South Vietnam to fight their own war as we did in our civil war. -
Peace talks break through
This is where Paris talks of peace but falls through and does not happen. -
Peace Talks Resume Finally!
After the hard battle, talks of peace resumes, and is not ruled out. -
Cease Fire is Signed
All parties in Vietnam cease fire -
Nixon Resigns
Nixon Resignes and we leave Vietnam ALONE -
Final U.S. Evacuation
These are the final U.S casualties and we leave Vietnam. This is the final evacuation. :)
