Frida's big accident

Frida suffers a horrible accident on a tram and city bus, which leaves her in bed for a long time.Thanks to this accident and all the time she would spend in her bed in recovery, Frida makes the decision to start painting.

Frida begins a relationship with Diego Rivera

1928

Frida is reunited with Diego Rivera and a relationship begins to develop.

Diego and Frida get married (even though Frida is 21 years younger than Diego).

Frida in the United States

1933

Frida lives and travels through the US with Diego (suffers the first of several miscarriages).

Frida and her first international exhibition

1938

Frida has her first art exhibition in New York.

Frida returns to Mexico

1939

Frida returns to Mexico and divorces her husband Diego Rivera (after the divorce, she paints one of her greatest works "Las dos Fridas" and other paintings).

Diego and Frida give each other another chance and remarry in California, United States.

Frida has her first exhibition for herself and her art

The first exhibition that was made for her alone and in which she showed her art to the world, takes place in her native country Mexico (Frida arrived at the exhibition in her ambulance, being in her bed).

Frida dies

Frida dies at the age of 47.

Frida's museum

1958

Her house opens like a museum. And it was opened mainly, to show and honor the life and art of Frida Kahlo. They named it "The blue house" in honor of the peculiar color in which this great house is painted.
