    A stock market crash occurred in the United States. This event was the beginning of the Great Depression, which lasted for ten years. The Great Depression caused many people to become jobless and then have a hard time getting a job. It was really hard to make a living durin the Great Depression.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Japanese forces attacked Pearl Harbor, a Hawaiian naval base. The attack was an attempt to keep the U.S. Navy from interfering with Japanese military actions.
  • John F. Kennedy assassination

    John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. The person responsible was Lee Harvey Oswald, who was later found guilty. However when being transferred, was killed by Jack Ruby.
  • Martin Luther King Assassination

    Martin Luther King was shot and killed by James Earl Ray in Memphis, Tennessee. That day he planned on giving a speech about sanitation workers.
  • Apollo 11

    Apollo 11 was the first man-made spacecraft to land on the moon. Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong were the first people to step foot onto the moon. "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
  • Kent State Shooting

    During a antiwar protest, Ohio National Guard's shot into a crowd of protesters, killing 4 and wounding 9. Due to this event, all over the world, college students began protesting against going to college.
  • President Nixon is Impeached

    President Nixon was charge with obstruction of justice. He was involved with the Watergate Scandal. He had a trial, then he was impeached.
  • Space shuttle Challenger

    When the space shuttle was launched, Christa McAuliffe, a teacher, was on board. The shuttle exploded 73 seconds after takeoff. They say the cause of the explosion was due to many factors.
  • Oklahoma City bombing

    This was a domestic attack that killed 168 people. The people responsible for the attack were Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols.
  • 9/11

    Terrorists took control of four airplanes. They crashed two planes into the World Trade Center in New York and one plane into the Pentagon. The fourth plane crashed in Pennsylvania.
