    Treaty of Paris 1763
    This treaty ended the French and Indian War. The British walked away winning the war. The treaty was also signed in Paris, France.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    This act put a three-cent sales tax on foreign refined sugar and increased taxes on coffee, indigo, and certain kinds of wine. This was also another one of the acts that led to the American Revolution.
  • Stamp Act

    It was an act where the colonist had to pay taxes on any paper item they bought. This was one of the acts that led the colonist to rebel against the British.
  • Townshend Act

    These acts placed new taxes on glass, lead, paints, paper, and tea. These acts made the Americans think about how much freedom they had and helped lead to the war.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was not really a massacre, only 5 people died. This was started because the citizens started throwing things at the soldiers and as a result the soldiers fired back.

    This act gave a monopaly on tea sales to the East India Company. The Americans could only buy tea from this company, this also led to the Revolution.

    This declaration announced that the colonies were no longer under the British Empire. It justified the independence of the United States by asserting certain natural rights.

    This battle was a major turning point in the Revolutionary War. It helped get the faith back that had been lost in Washington and the army.

    This was a major battle in the Revolutionary war. The main leaders of this battle were Howe and Washington. As a result the British defeated the Americans and took over Philadelphia.

    This battle was a major turning point in the war. Winning this battle helped the French support the Americans against the British.
  • British capture Philidelphia

    The British captured Philidelphia after the battle of Brandywine Creek. Because Washington made major mistakes while fighting it gave the British yet another advantage over the Americans.
  • British Capture Charleston

    The British captured Charleston was taken after a major battle. After the British captured Charleston they had a huge advantage over the Americans.
  • The Battle of Yorktown

    This was the last major battle in the war. There were smaller battles that took place after this but nothing major. This victory is what won the Revolution for the Americans.
