    It was dug in Fredonia, New York by William Hart in 1821. Hart moved on to create the Fredonia Gas Light Company, becoming the first American natural gas company.

    Thomas Davenport invented the electric motor in 1834, but it was not patented till 1837. Mr. Davenport was not even a scientist just a mere blacksmith and tinkerer, he sold things and got money to buy an electromagnet for himself. He took it apart and started creating his own things which was how the electric motor was invented.

    The first large-scale electrical air-conditioning was invented and used in 1902 by Willis Haviland Carrier. Willis created this to help a friend at the Brooklyn printing plant. The changes in heat and humidity was causing the demenisons of the printing paper to change and misalign the ink, so he invented it to help some one and ended up helping everyone.

    On May 26, 1958 President Dwight D. Eisenhouser open the first commercial nuclear power plant named the Shippingport Nuclear Power Plant, and was opened as a part of his 'Atoms for Peace' project.
