I am not sure of the exact date, but it was after 1403 and before 1405. He started testing out his ships by sailing to Japan and Thailand to train his sailors and test run his program.

One of the gifts from Africa was a full grown giraffe. When he showed the emporer this animal everyone on the streets crowded to see the animal. After that he went back to get even more animals. Then the chinese made a zoo for all of the animals!
