Youth in the 1950's
In the 1950's it is commonly agreed that there was too many rules. Rules at school, rules for the oppisite sex, rules for the streets, rules, rules, rules. Dancing however was always a way to connect and intereact as youths. It was a nice way to begin to breakdown this abundance of rules. -

Youth in the 1960's
These youths were concerned with the wars taking place oversee's. As youths opinions are not highly regarded at this time in comparison to adults. These youths decided to stand together and make their voices be heard. -
Youth in the 1970's
Racisim was constantly evolving and changing from what it began as. This is a picture of a black women teaching black and white youths in a classroom in Toronto in the 1970's. Social barriers caused by racism were being broken down at an exponential rate .These changes in school policies lead to changes in views that these youths would grow up with. -
Youth in the 1980s
Youths in the 1980s were expirementing with their identity and as such, things like tattoos and piercing were becoming more common. At the same time the musical genre of punk rock was taking off, This style of music was an advoacte for such piercings and tattoos. -
Youth in the 1990s
Major technological change wrapped up the youth at this time. Things like MTv, hip hop and cellphones began to take over. -
Youth in the 2000s
Things such as facebook were dominated by youths. Simply because this new technolgy had not been introduced before and adults were not a custom to it. The youths support is what supported the skyrocketing of technological advances such as facebook. -
Youth in 2010
Social Media has taken off like never before. And youths are their largest supporter. We all know that 12 year old child who tweets and posts instagram pictures. Not only is social media a way to explain what is going on your life, it is also a way for business's to expand their connections, and advertise, advertise, advertise.
