I will read the book "Miss Nelson is Missing" by Harry Allard. After the story, your child will express to me how they would feel if I (the teacher) went missing and they had a mean substitute.

I will read "The Story of Ferdinand" by Munro Leaf. After the book is read, your child will write a story explaining what it would feel like to be Ferdinand the bull.

I will read "Old Black Fly" by Jim Aylesworth. When the story is over, your child will be asked to draw a picture of what happens to the fly in the end of the book.

I will ready "Horton Hears A Who" by Dr. Seuss. I will then ask them to choose their favorite book of the week. That afternoon the children will watch the movie to follow along with the book of the day.
