Mecury freedom 7 was the first human spaceflight launched by the United States.The main scientific objective of Mercury was to determine man's capabilities in a space environment. It carried Alan B. Shepard,Jr. who became the first U.S. Astronaut into space. -

Apollo 11
Apollo 11 was the spaceflight that landed the first humans on the Moon. Neil Armstrong ,Michael Collins and Edwin E. Aldrin, Jr. Neil Armstrong became the first to the first to step onto the lunar surface. They ended up collecting 47 pounds of lunar material to return to Earth. Because of this we were able to have new technology and new systems of engineering. Over all it acomplished the political goals for which it had been created and made america look even more powerful. -

Mars Pathfinder is an American spacecraft . The pathfinder was for the use of posible missions in future to Mars. It was made to investigate the structure of the atmosphere, surface, and form. A small, rover was also carried on the Path finder and became the first rover ever to explore the Mars surface. -

The ISS is the largest artificial body in orbit, it can sometimes even be seen at a certain time with your naked eye here from Earth. It was intended to be a laboratory, observatory and factory in space. -
Columbia Space Shuttle
"Space Shuttle Columbia was the first spaceworthy Space Shuttle"Says NASA. The shuttle was runnned by the columbia country. Once launched a piece of foam insulation broke off from the Space Shuttle external tank and struck the left wing. Once the Shuttle entered the atmosphere, the damage allowed hot atmospheric gases to get ot the wing which destroyed the internal wing structure. This caused the spaceshuttle to become unstable and break apart. -

The rover became stuck in late 2009, and its last communication with Earth was sent on March 22, 2010.
