The Blitz was the period when Hitler had his Luftwaffe bomb Brittan continuously. The German airplane bombing strategy was to go offense and bomb Britain. British people were forced to hide under railways and subway stations. Hitler believed that bombing the civilians would force the British to surrender. Nagasaki was bombed when, after the little boy bomb was dropped, Japan still refused to surrender. An atomic bomb called "fat man" was dropped on Nagisaki to further push Japan toward surrendering, it worked.
