    Invasion of Poland

    Germany and Poland were involved in this. It was in Poland and Germany decided they were going to invade Poland using Blitzkrieg. Thus starting WWII.

    Battle of the Atlantic

    It is a very strategic spot to have control of because the United States ships goods to there democratic allies in Europe.
  • Bombing of Pearl Harbor

    Japan and the United States were involved with Pearl Harbor. It was at the base of Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. Japan had decided to keep the United States out of the war they were going to bomb our naval base of Pearl Harbor. While they did destroy a lot of our naval units and killed lots of american's they did not meet their goal. All they did was wake up a sleeping giant.
  • The Bataan Death March

    This was during the Philippines falling during WWII. A lot of the american and Philippine soldiers that were in the 65 mile march were beaten and killed during the march.
  • Battle of Coral Sea

    The first air-sea battle in history and an engagement in which the lead role was played by aircraft launched from ships at sea, this battle resulted from Japanese efforts to make an amphibious landing at Port Moresby in southeast New Guinea. The Japanese were seeking to control the Coral Sea with an invasion of Port Moresby in southeast New Guinea, but their plans were intercepted by Allied forces.

    The big turning point in the war in the Pacific. The United States took out all of the carriers that the Japanese had. Made Japan turn into the concept of fighting with every last man.

    Battle of Guadalcanal

    The Battle of Guadalcanal last a very long time. The Japanese soldiers adopted the mentality of fighting until every last soldier was dead. This made the United States have to capture or kill every last soldier on the island.

    Allied invasion of North Africa (Morocco and Algeria)

    It helped the United States get ready for the war. It was kind of like a warm up. We invaded Africa to get ready to invade Europe from below.
  • Invasion of Normandy

    The Invasion of Normandy was a huge step in taking back France. There was a lot of casualties but gave us a step in Europe.

    Battle of the Bulge was one of the last major offensive attacks in WWII. It was successful for the Allies and marked the downfall of Germany.

    Battle of Iwo Jima

    It was part of the Pacific theater. It was hard to take over like most of the Pacific Islands. Many casualties and it was the first air-sea battle.

    Battle of Okinawa

    The last small island in the Pacific before the islands of Japan. Took a long time to take and one of the bloodiest battles in the war.

    Liberation of Dachau and Buchenwald

    Most soldiers for the United States didn't realize that the Holocaust was going on. Therefore saving the starving survives was a lot harder than it seemed. A lot of the survives of the camps would die from shock when they finally got to eat and consumed to much. But we did free the camps and eventually a lot of the survivors got healthy once again.

    This is victory day in Europe. It makes the end of WWII in Europe.

    The bombing of these two cities in Japan was to end WWII. It saved millions of peoples lives by not invading on land into Japan
