  • The Battle of Stalingrad

    The Battle of Stalingrad was a huge battle on the Eastern side of the U.S. Nazis Germany and their allies fought with the Soviet Union fought for control over the city Stalingrad in Russia. It lasted 5 months, 1 weeks and three days. Around 1.2 million people died in this war.
  • Operation Torch

    Operation Torch

    Operation Torch was an allied invasion of French North Africa during WWII. Torch was an operation that met the British objective of securing victory in North Africa. All while allowing American armed forces the opportunity to engage in the fight against Nazi Germany on a limited scale.
  • Operation Overlord

    The Allied forces landed troops on Normandy beaches for the largest water assault in history. They invaded Germany from the water during WWII. It was a successful invasion with around 150,000 casualties.
  • The Battle of Iwo Jima

    The USA marines and the navy landed on the Iwo Jima island and fought until they were victorious. Around 70,000 people died during the battle. We captured 216 Japanese. 21,000 Japanese died.
  • Nuclear Bombs/Japanese Surrender

    on August 9, the United States dropped a second atomic bomb over Nagasaki, killing around 70,000 people. They finally realized that victory was impossible. The Japanese government accepted Allied surrender terms without qualifications
