    The Germans invaded Poland, as Hitler sough to regain territory of the the Polish. Their attack strategy was know as the "Blitzkrieg", it included extensive bombing, limiting military, transportation and more.

    Germany used an alternate strategy from WWI when attacking France and took them by surprise. Within 6 weeks the Germans had gained control of Paris and other cities.

    The Germans continuously bombed London in hopes to gain power over it and its residents. London's people would not stand for this and they were more prepares than the Germans, in turn they were not able to conquer London.

    Germany invaded the Soviet Union, but in the end the Soviet Union came out victorious at Stalingrad. The Germans had not prepared for the harsh winter where the war continued killing many.

    Six months after Pearl Harbor's tragedy the United States defeated the Japanese. This was due to all the advanced code breaking in the U.S. This allowed the to expect what was coming from the Japanese and rise victorious.
  • D-Day

    The U.S. and allies landed on Normandy, France. It's code name is Operation Overlord. Approximately 156,000 Allied troops stormed the beaches and about 4,000 died. In the end on May 8, 1945 Nazi Germany declared unconditional surrender

    The U.S. dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima killing more than 80,000 people. The second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, killing about 40,000 people.The Japanese Emperor Hirohito announced the country’s surrender in a radio broadcast for all to hear.
