On this day, President Paul Von Hindenberg named Adolf Hitler Chancellor of Germany. I find this important because this marks the beginning of Hitlers power over Germany. -

Germany went into Austria and conquered it and seized the Austrian government. I find this important because this was a major event leading to WWII -
Munich Pact
The British and the French signed an agreement with Germany saying that Hitler can keep the land he has already but cant take anymore. I think this is important because Hitler was stubborn and denied the agreement and continued trying to seize more power. -
Germany Takes The Czech
Germany Marched into Czechoslovakia and took control of Bohemia. I think this is important because this is what took off for WWII -
Blitzkrieg
The Germans used blitzkrieg in WWII as a new and smart offensive attacking method in battles. They used blitzkrieg in the invasion of Poland. I found this important, because before this there wasn't really any official fighting tactics for the Germans. -
Dunkirk
The battle of Dunkirk was fought from 05/26/1940 - 06/4/1940 on the french port of Dunkirk against Nazi Germany. I found this important because it was a big loss for Germany because they put a lot of resources out for the battle but many of the french escaped. -
Pearl Harbor
The Japanese planned a suprise attack on the army base in Hawaii, Pearl Harbor. I find this important because the next day the U.S declared war on Japan. -
Italy's Surrender
Although Hitler wanted to invade Italy before there inevitable surrender. Eisenhower announced to the people that Italy had surrendered. This is important because it weakened the axis powers for the overall rest of the war. -
Bomb dropped on Hiroshima
The U.S had enough of japan so they loaded up an atomic bomb onto a plane on dropped on to the city of Hiroshima they recorded about 140,000 deaths. This is important to me because this shows that the U.S had the last laugh in the war and that the war was coming to an end. -
The End Of WWII
President MacArthur accepts japans surrender they brought all the leaders onto our boats to sign the surrender that ended the world war. This is important to me because this was the last event taking place in WWII.
